Here are the take away numbers: Median price of a resale home in Bay Area: $850K ($100K increase over last year) vs $357K in Sac (New home:$433K) vs $1.3 million in SF. %46 of Bay Area residents want to move out of the region. %4.7:Projected increase in price of new homes this year vs %8.2 for resale. My observation (partly supported by the article) they are not purchasing EQUALLY EVERYWHERE and in all price points. They have $ and like the newer developments in Natomas and El Dorado County better than say West Sacramento or even new development in McKinley Village.
